Spring 2018 York Rite Festival

The Greensboro York Rite Bodies will confer their annual Spring Festival beginning on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 7:30 PM. We will open a brief business meeting at 7:00 PM, and hope to begin the degree work at 7:30. The Festival will resume on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 8:00 AM.

Any Master Mason in good standing is eligible to join the York Rite of Freemasonry. York Rite Country Ham Supper

The Greensboro York Rite Bodies’ annual fund-raising Country Ham Supper will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 4:30 to 7:00 PM at the Greensboro Masonic Temple.  

The menu will consist of center-cut country ham, eggs, hand-made biscuits, grits, baked apples and coffee or tea. Take out orders will be available at the door. Tickets are $8.00 per person and are available from any York Rite Mason. Proceeds will benefit the York Rite Masonic charities.

This dinner is open to the public.

M.W. Bro. William Henry Simpson

It is our sad duty to report the passing of Most Worshipful Brother William Henry (Bill) Simpson. M.W. Brother Simpson was born on May 14, 1928. He was initiated to the degree of Entered Apprentice on June 21, 1949, passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on July 19, 1949 and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on August 2, 1949 at Stokesdale Lodge No. 428 in Stokesdale, NC. M.W. Brother Simpson passed away after a long illness on September 8, 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marian, his brother, Robert Simpson, his sisters, Peggy Harper and Betty Shelton and their spouses and children.

Funeral services and an indoor Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM at the West Market Street United Methodist Church in Greensboro, located at 302 West Market Street. The family will receive visitors at 2:00 PM at the church. All Masons are requested to bring and wear their white aprons to the service. M.W. Brother Simpson will be laid to rest with Masonic graveside rites at Westminster Gardens Cemetery after the funeral service.

M.W. Brother Simpson was in every sense of the word, a gentleman. He was a wonderful teacher, mentor and friend. He will be missed. Please keep Marian and the family in your thoughts and prayers.
